Grey Properties Inc. is a Fraser Valley–based residential home builder and licensed general contractor, specializing in well-built spec homes, high-end custom residences, and premium renovations throughout Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, and the surrounding Fraser Valley.

 

Grey Properties is led by founder Darren Barkman, who brings over 20 years of residential construction experience in the Fraser Valley. His career began on active construction sites, working in crane and rigging operations with Eagle West Cranes where he developed a strong foundation in structural construction, site coordination, and job-site execution.

 

From there, Darren advanced into full residential construction, holding senior roles with established local builders and becoming directly involved in the construction and delivery of more than 50 homes. His experience spans spec home subdivisions, high-end custom homes, and complex luxury renovations, including projects in sought-after neighbourhoods such as Eagle Mountain and private acreage and hillside estates throughout the Fraser Valley.

 

Grey Properties reflects the standards, systems, and trade relationships developed over the course of that experience. Today, the company applies a disciplined, practical approach to residential construction—particularly in spec home building—with a strong emphasis on consistency, quality, and long-term value.

 

As a licensed BC General Contractor, Grey Properties oversees the full construction process—from planning and budgeting through construction and final delivery. Projects are carefully managed with a focus on clear communication, reliable execution, and building homes properly from the ground up.
